Description and Basic Information ::
|
Located 20 minutes west of downtown, Casa Bonita serves up a taste of Mexico, not only with their food but also through the authentic atmosphere. Dining next to a 30-foot waterfall and surrounded by palm trees, you will soon forget that you’re in Colorado.
The restaurant/theme park was inspired by the La Casa Bonita in old Mexico. This house was made famous by Senor Garcia Serata, who graciously opened his mansion to Mexican soldiers during times of civil war. La Casa Bonita translated means “the beautiful house” – a name befitting the grand scale and attention to detail that make Casa Bonita one of the most visited, (over 1 million customers per year), and unique attractions in Denver.
The restaurant has 10 different dining areas that can accommodate over 1100 guests, each with its own setting and unique feel. The main attraction is the indoor Acapulco cliff divers. It is a theatrical performance that involves more than just diving off cliffs and must be experienced to be appreciated. Putting on an entertaining show is priority number one at Casa Bonita and clearly the reason for their popularity.
Children will enjoy Black Bart's Hide Out, a haunted house type attraction set in a man-made cave. There is also a puppet show theatre and arcade room, and an area where kids can test their piñata bashing skills. Visitors should plan on eating, as there is a cover charge that will be taken off the price of your meal. If you’re looking for entertainment while you eat, Casa Bonita is the type of place that you will not soon forget. |
