:: Description and Basic Information ::
Six Flags Elitch Gardens is located in downtown Denver, Colorado, next to Mile High Stadium and the new Pepsi Center. The park moved to its new location in 1995 after over 100 years at its original site in southeast Denver.

Elitch Gardens has more than 100 rides and attractions. From the XLR8R, the highest free fall swing in the world, to the What’s Up Rock Looney Tunes musical extravaganza, there is something special for everyone. Thankfully, the lines are usually short which means less standing and more riding.

Denver’s 58-acre downtown amusement park is actually two theme parks in one. On one side, more than 40 thrill rides can be found amid beautiful gardens (hence the name), lakes and even a Victorian village. On the other side of Elitch Gardens is a 10-acre water theme park offering a dozen high speed water slides, an action river ride, a 28,000 square foot wave pool and a water coaster that blasts riders down a twisting course through 14-foot wide tubes.

Some of the parks more popular rides include the Mind Eraser, Boomerang and the Tower of Doom – a 22-story free-fall. The explosive Batman Stunt Show and the Looney Tunes town are wonderful attractions for children. The park also has a terrific assortment of children’s rides, from bumper cars to miniature replicas of some of the bigger rides.

One of the highlights of Elitch Gardens is the Broadway Revue Show – a musical that features tunes from the 1920s to the present. It’s a great evening attraction and a relaxing way to end the day.
