Description and Basic Information ::

It’s a scorching August afternoon and your idea of beating the heat goes beyond sitting in an air-conditioned movie theatre or pub. On a blazing summer day in Colorado, there’s only one place to head for both thrills and relaxation - Water World.
Water World has several million gallons of water flowing through 41 of the most exciting aquatic attractions to be found anywhere. The park has two wave pools, white water rapids, speed slides and many aquatic rides. Located on a hillside of 64 beautifully sculpted acres of grass, flowers and trees, it is a paradise for both sun-seekers and water-lovers.
At Water World, there is something for every member of the family. Kids aged four and under can safely play in Wally World, an area that includes a pool, waterfall, and several slides built specifically for the little ones. The rest of the family can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Lazy River or ride the internationally acclaimed Voyage to the Center of the Earth, the park's most popular attraction. It is best to arrive early and make Voyage to the Center of the Earth your first stop, thus avoiding the enormous lines later in the day.
The more adventurous should take a trip through the FunH2Ouse, the first attraction of its kind and another park favorite. Its steep, three story slides will satisfy even the most enthusiastic adrenaline junkies. The Screamin’ Mimi, Thunder Bay and all-new Zoomerang will also provide world-class thrills and big-time excitement.
Parking is always free, (a rarity to be sure) and picnics are welcome. There is also a concession stand selling the usual fare of burgers, sandwiches and drinks. Water World is located at 88th and Pecos, a few miles north of downtown. Admission prices are adults – $23, children over 3 – $20 and seniors and children 3 and under – free. The park is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day from 10am – 6pm. For more information call (303) 427-7873 or visit their web site at www.hylandhills.org |
